Lauren Diaz, featured on Tuesday night’s blind auditions episode of The Voice, sang an amazing rendition of Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You.”
That’s right. She sang Alicia Keys, to Alicia Keys herself. And she slayed.
Her voice got three judges, Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus, and, of course, Alicia Keys to turn their chairs. After each star begged Diaz to join their team, she naturally went with her idol, Keys. Diaz, 24, explained how she’d been singing Keys’ songs since her childhood, and seemed ecstatic to join her team.
After embracing her new coach, Diaz said “I’m so blessed to be here and I can’t even begin to think what’s going to happen next.” The two walked back stage to greet her anxious family, only to find her boyfriend, Randy, on one knee holding a ring! She probably didn’t see that happening next! After saying yes immediately and embracing her new fiancé, Keys joined in and declared, “we’re all getting married! All three of us!”
Talk about life changing moments! We are so excited for Lauren, not only for getting to work with her idol, but for her engagement!
