#MeatlessMonday Meets Wedding Receptions

Is it possible to have a meatless wedding? While many would say, even if the bride and groom are vegetarian you have to have options for meat-eaters at a wedding reception, we say your wedding should reflect your lifestyle! If you and or your partner are vegetarian and are strict to the lifestyle; say if you are the face that comes to mind when anyone in your family hears the word “vegetarian,” it shouldn’t come as a surprise if you choose to have your wedding reflect that value.

Luckily, there are plenty of options for non-meat entrees that can still be satisfying and filling. Work with your caterer to come up with the best, well-rounded meal plan. You can still have a couple of options for guests to choose from, for example, you could do a meat substitute (or fish if you are pescitarian) such as tofu, and also have the option for just veggie-based entrées. Pasta is the perfect vegetarian option, as you can add whatever type of meat-free sauce you’d like. Eggplant is a great, hearty vegetable that can be the focus of a plate.

Remember that your wedding day is a reflection of your relationship! While it is still important to keep your guests happy and satisfied, it’s ok to keep your day in line with your values and lifestyle. There are definitely ways to create a menu perfect for everyone on your guest list.
