If your ring has more than one band, or any kind of layered look, find a dress that does the same! A popular trend in 2016, going strong into 2017, is a layered skirt, which as a lot of beautiful movement. Look for styles like these, from Mori Lee and Allure.
Vintage rings and gowns are making a major comeback, so there is a good chance this may be the style ring you opted for! Look for lace gowns with sleeves, simple satin gowns, or high necklines to keep up the vintage style.
There are a couple of ways to go if you have an engagement ring on the more simple side (like a single stone on a gold/silver band). You can match the look with a classic, simple and elegant gown, something more minimalist, not too extravagant. This can also make the stone (if you have one) pop, as it will be more of the focal point of your look. However, you could also choose to balance the simple ring, with a gown that’s more extravagant and one-of-a-kind.
If you have some serious bling on that finger, or maybe a rock remarkably similar to the stone from the movie, Titanic, you may want to go with a more understated gown. The less going on in your dress, the more your ring (and all its sparkle) will stand out. Of course, you could also just love the extravagance of a lot of bling (who could blame you!), and go with a dress that’s just as outspoken, maybe even one that shines when it hits the light just right!
If your ring is inspired by nature, perhaps stones in the shape of a flower, with various colored stones mixed in, or a branch-sort of band, find a gown that reflects it. Floral patterns with pops of color are going to be really popular in 2017, and anything that has a more natural, textured feel would work as well!
